Developer-led, not sales-led
Ecommerce Agency Built Around Your Business
Ecommerce agency support for retailers ready to build properly
We design, build, integrate, migrate and support ecommerce stores around how your business works, not around the limits of ecommerce platforms. Techquity is developer-led, commercially focused and built for long-term partnerships.
We work with established retailers who need operational efficiency and lower total cost of ownership, and with growing ecommerce brands that need more profitable revenue from the traffic, customers and systems they already have.
Established retailers: large catalogues, multiple sales channels, bespoke ERP, POS, CRM, stock or fulfilment systems, and internal teams relying on manual workarounds.
Growing ecommerce brands: tight margins, rising ad costs, low conversion rates, weak repeat purchase and limited internal time or resource.
If you need a quick theme install or a one-off build with no plan for what happens next, we will usually point you towards a simpler route. This page is for businesses ready to invest in long-term technical partnerships.
When basic agency support stops being enough
Most established retailers reach a point where the platform stops being a website and starts being part of the operation. At that point, you should not have to fight through layers of account management to explain a technical problem.
The pattern is familiar: simple changes take weeks, systems do not talk to each other properly, teams bridge gaps manually, and the platform starts forcing the business to bend around its limitations. A drip of "that cannot be built" responses quietly becomes a lot of compromised decisions.
We almost never say something cannot be built. If it is hard, we will say it is hard. Then we work out the cleanest route to making it happen.
We make day-to-day changes manageable for your team, build bespoke APIs and middleware so your systems connect properly, and shape the platform around how the business actually trades. Our clients speak directly with the developers doing the work, not an account manager translating between.
The outcome should be less operational friction, better internal efficiency, systems that connect properly the first time, and a lower total cost of ownership over a three to five year horizon.
When more traffic is not the answer
If margins are tight and conversions are flat, more traffic is rarely the first answer. More from the traffic you already have is usually the work.
We see ecommerce businesses spending more on ads each quarter, with every platform claiming credit for the same sale, while the site looks fine but is not converting. The fix is not always a larger marketing budget. It is better decisions about what is already in front of you.
We start with conversion data, not aesthetics. CRO and consultancy help find where the funnel is leaking. Proper attribution shows where sales are really coming from. Klaviyo flows, segmentation and retention work compound margin. Full cost of sale modelling brings returns, ad spend, fulfilment, platform fees and refunds into the picture.
The outcome should be more revenue from the same traffic, higher conversion rates and AOV, stronger repeat purchase, better retention and less wasted spend on the wrong work.
Profit and TCO, not vanity revenue
Long-term partnerships, not one-off builds
A commercial view of the problem, from people who understand the build
Developer-led, not sales-led. Our founders are developers. The first conversation is with someone who can assess, challenge and solve the technical problem, not someone whose job is to qualify you into a sales process.
Profit, not revenue. Revenue is easy to put in a case study. Profit is harder to claim and harder to fake. We optimise for total cost of ownership, margin and conversion that actually pays.
Long-term partnership. We are not interested in one-off builds with no plan for what comes next. The work we are proud of is the five-year relationships, second and third phases, and compounding wins.
What We Deliver
Six routes into a longer relationship: bespoke ecommerce development, Shopify and Shopify Plus, replatforming and migrations, ongoing support, CRO, SEO, ecommerce marketing and Klaviyo email marketing.
Platform choices should follow the business model
Shopify and Shopify Plus are right for many growing brands, but not always for established retailers with deeper operational requirements. Aero Commerce offers particular depth for retailers with bespoke workflows. Adobe Commerce, Magento and BigCommerce can suit specific B2B, enterprise and mid-market cases.
Bespoke builds using Laravel or Statamic make sense when nothing off the shelf fits the business. We will give you an honest view before we quote, because the platform choice should reduce friction rather than move it somewhere else.
See the work behind the claims
Our ecommerce work spans migrations, bespoke platform builds, support retainers, CRO, SEO and retention. Explore the case studies to see how the work changes by retailer, platform and commercial problem.
Who this is not for
If you are a very early stage brand looking for the cheapest Shopify theme, you will usually be better off setting that up yourself. There is no shame in that, and you will learn more about your customer by doing it.
If you only want a basic site with no ecommerce complexity, you probably do not need us. Most freelancers will get you there faster.
If you want one-off ad hoc development with no plan for post-launch, we are not the right fit. We build long-term relationships for long-standing success.
Direct answers before the first call
What does an ecommerce agency actually do? It depends on the agency. Techquity designs, builds, integrates, migrates, optimises and supports ecommerce platforms, with the technical capability to make the platform fit the business and the commercial view to make sure the work pays off.
How is Techquity different from a marketing agency or freelancer? A marketing agency usually focuses on traffic and ad spend. A freelancer can do good work but rarely has the bandwidth for a multi-system retail operation. We sit between the two: full agency capacity, developer-led delivery and a commercial view of what moves the business forward.
Do we need Shopify, Aero Commerce or bespoke? That depends on how the business trades, what the operational constraints are, how much flexibility is needed and what compromises the team can live with. The first conversation is designed to make that choice clearer.
When should an established brand consider replatforming? Usually when the current platform is blocking commercial priorities, integration needs, customer experience or internal workflows strongly enough that incremental fixes have become the more expensive route.
How do you handle ERP, POS, CRM or fulfilment integrations? We build bespoke APIs and middleware so those systems talk to each other properly, rather than relying on your team to bridge gaps manually.
What is wrong with revenue as a success metric? Nothing on its own, but it is a partial picture. Revenue can rise while margin falls. We optimise for the full cost of sale view and total cost of ownership over time.
Start the conversation
We do not run a sales team. The first conversation you will have is with someone who can actually help with the technical problem, not someone whose job is to qualify you out.
Tell us about your platform, your team and where things hurt. We will tell you honestly whether we can help, and if we cannot, who you should talk to instead.
